Dear Colleague.
Welcome to BSDR/NOF 2007
It is a great honour for us here at
Newcastle University to be asked to host the 2007 BSDR which takes place
between Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th April 2007, held in the collegiate
atmosphere of Durham University in the historic and beautiful city of
Durham. This year we are delighted to be having a joint meeting with the
Scandinavian Association (NOF). We are determined to ensure that the
2007 meeting is successful and we aim to ensure that both the scientific
and social programmes will appeal to all delegates.
The following information will help delegates with
their prior planning and organisation
for the meeting. Information about the Conference including on-line
registration and abstract submission details may be found on this
website. The website contains comprehensive details of the
Conference, how to register for the event, travel to Durham, and
accommodation information. All sponsors will be acknowledged on the
website, and links to their home page can be provided on request.

Durham has a wealth of historic interest and is small
enough to easily explore on foot. The Castle and Cathedral dominate the
city skyline and have been designated as a World Heritage Site. Durham has
a good selection of shops, pubs, wine bars and restaurants, and sporting
facilities include golf courses, rowing and river boat cruising.
The Welcome Reception will take place on Monday 2nd
April 2005 in Collingwood College and is sponsored by the Dental
Academic Staff Committee of the British Dental Association. On Tuesday
night there will be a River boat Cruise along the river with fabulous
views of the Castle, Cathedral and City. The Annual Conference Dinner will
be held in the magnificent Great Hall of Durham Castle, Hogwarts Dining
Hall of Harry Potter films (Wizards robes optional!) on the Wednesday
night followed by dancing to to a Swing/Jazz band (book early as this
will be very popular!).

This conference will be fully
electronic, with electronic submission of abstracts, and PowerPoint for
all oral presentations. Please note that comprehensive instructions for
presenters will be posted on this website. There are a broad range of
topics covered in a varied academic programme.
We are extremely grateful to our sponsors for
the support they have shown for this meeting.
Finally may I, on behalf of the Local
Organising Committee, welcome you to Durham, the Land of the Prince
Bishops, and trust that you will enjoy a unique, hospitable and
stimulating Conference during BSDR/NOF 2007.
Professor Mark Thomason
Chair of Local Organising Committee
